  7. What makes C&H@Home unique in terms of support offered to the independent agent?
  8. C&H@Home has a staff of over 300 experienced travel professionals who really understand the business.  Calls are answered by a live support specialist and if a return call is necessary it is usually on  the same business day.  The support hours are Mon-Fri 9am-6pm pacific time.

  9. Do people call me directly?
  10. Yes, these are your clients.  C&H@Home simply provides you with the essential tools needed to operate your business.  In essence this is the same concept as owning a storefront travel agency with the exception of you working at home.

  11. Do I need a business license?
  12. You need to check with your city, county, and state to determine their requirements.  Each are different, some require licensing and some do not.  If your state requires a sellers of travel license like Florida or California you may obtain an exemption application from C&H@Home once you have registered and are in good standing.

  13. Do I need errors & omissions insurance
  14. C&H@Home has over $1,000,000.00 in errors and omissions insurance.

  15. How are my sales reported to the IRS?
  16. You will receive a 1099 at the end of the year.  As required by law one copy will go to the IRS if you have earned more than $600.00 in commissions.

  17. How much does it cost to join C&H@Home?

  19. How long does the agreement last?
  20. 12 months from receipt of your annual fee.

  21. Can I obtain CLIA and IATAN cards?
  22. Yes, as an experienced agent you will receive a CLIA card after you compete at least one cruise booking.  You are eligible for the IATAN card once you have generated a minimum of $5000.00 in commissions.  IATAN has certain requirements that must be met and since C&H is a legitimate travel host company we adhere to IATAN regulations.

  23. Will I receive travel benefits and discounts?
  24. Yes, producing agents will be eligible for industry benefits including special discounts from cruise lines, hotels, car rental companies and tour operators.

  25. Are there any productivity requirements?
  26. No, but travel benefits and discounts are based solely on production.

  27. How long does it take to get started?
  28. Once a background investigation is done and only those who have no criminal record and an acceptable credit score will be approved. Once you have been approved it typically takes 5 business days.

  29. What booking engines do you provide?
  30. You will have access to our exclusive booking technology to book air, hotel, cars, cruises and more.

  31. What gds do you offer?
  32. Galileo, Worldspan, Sabre.

  33. How do I get brochures?
  34. You should be able to contact the tour company or cruise line directly, but if you encounter a problem a quick email to C&H@Home can help you get the brochures needed.

  35. How will I receive my supplier confirmations?
  36. You will receive confirmation via email.

  37. What are the delivery/mail fees of travel documents?
  38. A standard charge of $15.00 for all documents that require non US Postal handling.   Please note: paper tickets, tour or cruise documents, hotel or car vouchers will not be sent via US Postal and any special deliveries will be assessed with a fee dependent upon individual situation.

  39. How am I paid commissions?
  40. We mail your commission on the 15th of each month.  All commissions are paid when the client travels.  You will receive a report of client names, invoice numbers and supplier with gross commission and commission earned (depending on your host plan).

  41. What if I am in a competitive situation and need to match a quote?
  42. Provide written proof of the quote and once verified we will do whatever possible to match the quote.  Also on groups we will work with you to help you secure the sale.
